Digital Innovations Offers The World’s First Plug-and-Play Universal Android Speaker Dock
Allows Android Phone Users to Effortlessly Charge their Phones While Enjoying Premium Sound.
Arlington Heights, IL, January 10, 2012 – Digital Innovations, LLC (DI), a leader in consumer electronics care and maintenance products as well as quality computer peripherals, is pleased to announce the industry’s first plug-and-play universal speaker dock for Android phones.
“While millions of plug-and-play speaker docks of all shapes and sizes have been purchased by iPhone users over the past few years, no such products have even existed for Android users”, said Collin Anderson, DI’s CEO. “That didn’t seem right to us, and we decided to address it with this product.”
“The challenge, and the reason why nobody had accomplished it previously, lie in the large variation in Android phone designs,” said Johan Abadie, Digital Innovations Director of New Products. “By designing a dock that can adapt to virtually any phone regardless of size, connector placement, internal circuitry and other factors, we’ve made it possible for Android users to enjoy the convenience of combined charging and playback that was previously only available to iPhone users.”
To initiate charging, Android users can simply plug the dock’s micro USB connector into their phone. To enjoy high-quality 2.1 stereo sound from the two speakers and powerful sub woofer, users simply connect the dock’s standard 3.5 mm headphone plug. No pairing is required. Once plugged in, users can place the phone into the dock’s cradle in either the “landscape” or “portrait” position, to suit their preference. That’s all there is to it. Users can even cradle the phone when it’s in a protective case.
Other highlights include a full-function remote control which, once the optional app is installed, allows the user to control basic media player functions like On/Off, Play/Pause, Skip/Back and Volume from anywhere in the room or from buttons on the dock itself. The app and dock use technologies developed in partnership with SONR™ Labs to provide this new level of universal Android control.
“We are delighted to launch this product because we believe it fills a huge void in the electronics market,” Anderson said. “Its 16 watts pack a big punch, and Android users will find it perfect for enjoying music at the office, during small get-togethers, in the kitchen or bedroom, or while unwinding at the end of the day.”
The Speaker Dock for Android™ has an MSRP of $99.99 and will initially be available exclusively through thinkgeek.com and at digitalinnovations.com.
